Written for solo piano and published in 1871, this piece was dedicated to Captain Gus Fowler, the captain of the packet boat the Idlewild. Henry Hart worked as a musician and barber on the Idlewild, which delivered mail along the Ohio River near Evansville, IN where he lived.
